"A great nation flows downward like a river, becoming the meeting place of the world, the feminine (receptive) force of the earth. The feminine always overcomes the masculine through stillness, by taking the lower position. Therefore, if a great nation places itself below a small nation, it wins the trust of the small nation. If a small nation places itself below a great nation, it wins the protection of the great nation."
